Born and raised in Maryland, then moving to Delaware and then Virginia before finally relocating to South Carolina in 2014, I’ve spent nearly 25 years working in the construction and real estate industries.

Having had so much exposure to all the different aspects of real estate, not only as an agent for buyers and sellers, but in working in residential property management and the construction industry in new home sales, I have an in depth knowledge of the tools necessary to effectively market properties.

When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my husband playing golf or just hanging out and enjoying the many activities the Myrtle Beach area has to offer.

Joi is one of those rarities on the Grand Strand these days…a true Southerner, but one who crossed the border from Raleigh, North Carolina in 2012 to make South Carolina her home. She came into real estate as a natural progression from her former 36+ year career of interior design and home construction.

As a successful designer/builder for all those years, she learned a few things about people, their homes and lifestyles. She is accustomed to listening to their wishes, observing and assessing their needs, and providing vision along with workable solutions. Applying these client skills to real estate comes naturally to her. The presentation of the home is important to a seller so that the prospective buyers can see the best potential of a home and envision themselves living there.

For buyers, a designer’s eye sees more than the obvious, so she can offer solutions that the viewer often misses. This can result in finding the perfect property while reducing the number of homes needed to review. Available to serve the whole Grand Strand, Joi concentrates mostly along the south end from Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island. She truly cares about her clients and tries to work with them on their comfort level, so if they need extra hand-holding through the buying or selling process, she is ready and willing to bridge the gap.

Joi received her BFA degree in interior design from East Carolina University. She has spent many years as a professional member of ASID, serving as President of the Carolinas Chapter in 2001-2002.  After leaving a full-time design career, she still dabbles in color consulting for paint or other products.
